- Use a dedicated prefix for each production batch so you never reuse identifiers.
- Keep margins generous to avoid covering hearing file stamps or footer captions.
- Save a clean copy before stamping; Bates numbers are permanent overlays on the PDF output.
- Before stamping, you can remove hidden metadata to keep filings anonymous.
- When discovery responses require both Bates and page numbers, run the Page Numberer after stamping so labels never overlap.
Need to index everything?
